Knights head north after beating St. Andrews 10-9

The Knights beat St. Andrews College, 10-9, in their swan song at the 2010 Savannah Invitational, hosted by Armstrong Atlantic State University. QC now heads north after splitting their six games in Georgia.

Robert Bernardo doubled in David Fisher, Anthony Mazzella singled in both Bernardo and James Casella and Wei Chang tripled home Mazzella to give QC a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first. St. Andrews got three back in the third off starter and winner Steve Kaplan but QC put up two spots in the third, fourth and fifth to build a 10-4 cushion after five frames.

St. Andrews made things interesting when they touched up Kaplan and Steve Quinn for five in the sixth but Steve Varela pitched a hitless seventh and eighth and Chang retired the side in order in the ninth to preserve the win for Kaplan.

Fisher, Bernardo and Warren Kelly each collected two hits for the Knights in the victory.
