Queens College Men's Hoops Sweeps ECC Weekly Honors

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY - The Queens College men's basketball team swept the East Coast Conference weekly honors, the league announced.  Senior Tyree White (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was named Player of the Week, while freshman Issac Grant (Jamaica, N.Y.) was named Rookie of the Week.

White averaged 15.5 points per game, 15.5 rebounds per game, and 6.0 assists per game over two games last week. He posted double-doubles in each contest and nearly had a triple-double in Queens' ECC opener against Roberts Wesleyan, finishing with 17 points, 12 rebounds, and eight assists. In a loss to Holy Family, White also pulled down an ECC season high 19 rebounds.

Grant averaged 17.0 ppg, along with 6.5 boards per outing. The freshman opened the week with 14 points and seven rebounds vs. Roberts Wesleyan.  He later contributed 20 points and six rebounds on the road at Holy Family. He shot over 60.0 percent from the field in both contests.

The Knights, 2-2 on the year, visit Linoln (PA) Tuesday evening for an 8:00 pm tip.
