Skukauskas Places First in 50 Free at USMMA

KINGS POINT, N.Y. - Sophomore Algirdas Skukauskas won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 22.40 seconds Monday night, and placed second in the 100-yard freestyle (51.04) as the Queens College men's swimming and diving team wrapped up its 2011 calendar year portion of its schedule with a dual meet at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

Senior Luke Culicerto continued his strong racing, placing second in both the 200-yard individual medley (2:09.09) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.01). Brothers, Kristopher (2:13.72) and Brandon (1:06.01) placed third in the 200 IM and 100 Breast, respectively.

Head coach Jeremy Cuebas's Knights are now off until Jan. 18, when they travel to Wayne, N.J., for a dual meet at William Paterson University.
