Boucher, Rosen Named to IWLCA All-North Region Second Team; First Such Selections in Program History

The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) recently announced its NCAA Division II All-Region Teams, and for the first time in the program's three-year history, a pair of student-athletes from the Queens College Knights have been tabbed on the squad. Juniors Sarah Boucher (Oceanside, N.Y.) and Heather Rosen (Holbrook, N.Y.) were both named to the North Region's second team for their stellar play in 2012.

Boucher's play in the midfield gave first-year head coach Tricia Moran Bonagura's Knights plenty of possession time this season, as the squad fired home 235 goals. Boucher is tied for the national lead with 7.18 draw controls per game through all NCAA competition, and also tallied 62 points on 47 goals and 15 assists.

Rosen ranks No. 2 nationally in goals per game (4.29) and fourth in both points (101 - a school record) and points per game (5.94). Her 73 goals tie her own program record (set in 2011) and rank No. 3 in the country, while her 28 assists on the season are also a program-high.

This duo, who were both All-East Coast Conference first-team selections for the second-straight year, and the rest of head coach Tricia Moran Bonagura's Queens squad set a program record with 10 victories in just the team's third season of varsity action. The Knights were also ranked No. 15 in Division II at one point late in the year, marking the first national ranking for the program.
