No. 26 Women's Tennis Wraps Up Season at NCAA Division II Round of 16
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The 26th-ranked Queens College women's tennis team saw its 2011-12 campaign come to a close Wednesday morning at the Top Gun Tennis Academy, as the Knights fell to fourth-ranked Lynn University by a 5-0 count in the NCAA Division II Championships' Round of 16.
Thirty-third year head coach Alan Nagel's QC squad wraps up the season with an 18-2 record, and advanced to the Round of 16 for the third-consecutive season. The Knights went undefeated in East Region, Division II play for the second straight year, as well.
Wednesday's match also marked the conclusion of senior Taylor Barber's (Salt Lake City, Utah) illustrious career in a QC uniform. She was a three-time member of the East Coast Conference's all-conference second team (2008-10), and captured the clinching singles match back on May 1 against 35th-ranked Concordia that sent Queens to a 5-4 triumph, and its third-straight Round of 16 berth.
