    The Queens College Department of Athletics hosted its annual Year-End Awards Banquet on Tuesday evening at the Harbor Links. The department celebrated the many accomplishments from the 2016-17 season and handed out major department awards, while each team distributed individual sport awards.

  • Cassidy Stewart Named ECC Co-Rookie Of The Year

    Queens College volleyball middle hitter Cassidy Stewart was recognized by the league's head coaches as the ECC Co-Rookie of the Year, it was announced. Stewart, a native of Keller, Texas was also named to the All-ECC Second Team to complete an outstanding year in Knights colors.

    A pair of Queens College volleyball players were recognized by the East Coast Conference this past week, a week in which the Knights went 2-0 in league play. Junior Kristen Moore was named Setter of the Week, while freshman Lauren Kehoe was named Rookie of the Week.
  • QC Volleyball Stuns Postseason Bound Bridgeport

    The fans inside Fitzgerald Gymnasium could not blink an eye with the highest scoring set of the season for the Queens College volleyball team happening right in front of them. With each point exchanged back and forth and victory close at hand, senior Tori Bowser's kill set up the match point before a Bridgeport attacking error gave the Knights a 31-29 third set win and a three set victory.
  • Freshman Duo Leads Volleyball To Sweep Of Mercy

    After taking a 2-0 match lead, the Queens College volleyball team fell behind in the third set of its East Coast Conference matchup with Mercy. But the Knights refused to give as the team worked hard to come back and complete the sweep. QC picked up its second conference win of the year with a score line of 25-15, 25-15, 26-24.

    Despite showing fight in the first set, the Queens College women’s volleyball fell in straight sets (27-25, 25-19, 25-13) to the Wildcats of Daemen College. On the season, the Knights now stand at 5-17 overall, and 1-8 in ECC play, while the Wildcats are in a close race for the top seed in conference as they improved to 16-6 overall and 8-1 in league action.

With the loss, the Knight moved to 3-13 overall, 1-5 ECC, while the Pioneers improved to 5-10 overall, 2-4 in conference action.
